The National Scientific Instrumentation Training Centre is based at locations across Australia, including Swinburne University's Hawthorn campus. The Centre offers "hands-on" training in scientific instrumentation.

In February 2006, no record of the centre post 2000 could be found using a Google internet search. Although scientific instrumentation is still taught at Swinburne.
