| In 1920 an Act of Parliament was passed for the foundation of the Commonwealth Institute of Science and Industry. This Institute continued the work of the Advisory Council of Science and Industry. In 1926 further changes were made, resulting in the creation of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), which succeeded the Commonwealth Institute of Science and Industry. |
