Baker and Rouse Australia Laboratory was established in 1894, when Thomas Baker, founder of Thomas Baker and Company Laboratories, joined forces with accountant John Rouse. The company later began importing Eastman's Kodak products, changing the name to Kodak Australia in 1907.
