Scott Paper Company was founded in Philadelphia by Irvin and Clarence Scott. Over the years the company expanded and became America’s leading producer of bathroom tissue. Later the Scott Paper Company and Bowater Paper Co from the UK set up a separate joint company known as Bowater-Scott Ltd. In 1960 this new joint venture commissioned a tissue and towelling mill based at Box Hill, Vic. The mill used imported pulp to supply their existing tissue and towelling conversion operation. In 1995 Scott Paper and Kimberly-Clark merged and they trade under the Kimberly-Clark name.
