| In 1946 the Commonwealth Forestry Bureau changed its name to the Forestry and Timber Bureau. This continued with the work of the Commonwealth Forestry Bureau until 1964, when the silviculture research and forest resources divisions formed a separate entity, the Forest Research Institute. In 1975 the two groups came back together again, forming the CSIRO Division of Forest Research. |
