| A renaming of Qantas Empire Airways Limited in August 1967 created Qantas Airways Limited. Qantas Airways Limited expanded the existing operations of Qantas Empire Airways to include all of the Australian mainland, as well as Tasmania. On 14 September 1992, Qantas Airways purchased Australian Airlines. In December 1992, the Qantas Sale Act 1992 was proclaimed, creating opportunities for privatisation of the Government owned company. The airline was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1995. |
