Queensland Mines Limited was first established in 1959 and was one of Queensland’s biggest uranium miners and exporters. The company drilled a number of diamond and RC percussion holes in late 1960's at Mirrioola and other uranium prospects. The company continues to operate under the name of Queensland Mines Pty Limited.
