Carnarvon Power Station delivers energy to much of Western Australia (WA) . In 2005 the WA government annonved that Western Power is to replace the Carnarvon power station and that a new gas-fired power station will be built to replace the existing gas-diesel facility. The station is expected to begin operating in March 2007.
