Werribee Sewerage Treatment Farm (noe Plant) was established to treat all sewerage waste from Melbourne. As the city's population expanded another treatment plant needed to be established (1975) to ease the burden on Werribee. The Werribee plant continues to operate in 2006 and supplies fast quantities of recycled water.
