The Department of Civil and Geological Engineering was part of RMIT University's Faculty of Engineering. At the start of the twenty-first century, an amalgamation took place between the Department of Civil and Geological Engineering and the Department of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering. This resulted in the formation of the School of Civil and Chemical Engineering.
