The Queensland Branch of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) was derived from one of the four original branches of the Australian Chemical Institute (ACI). The Queensland ACI held its first meeting in 1917. The branch was temporarily renamed the Queensland and Northern Territory Branch from around 1980 until an independent Northern Territory Branch was established in around 1990.
