| The Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Freshwater Ecology was formed in July 1993. Research areas covered by the CRC included freshwater ecology, biological monitoring, computer modelling, statistics, environmental chemistry and fish biology. The CRC was succeeded by eWater CRC in September 2005. From their Web site, June 2002: "The CRC for Freshwater Ecology provides ecological understanding to improve inland waters by collaborative research, education and resource management." It is a national research centre specialising in river and wetland ecology. The CRCFE is a joint venture between 20 partner organisations in five states and territories and is funded by the Australian Government and the partner organisations. |
