| The Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for CAST Metals Manufacturing replaced the CRC for Alloy and Solidification Technology in July 1999 when it received a seven year grant. Research areas covered by the CRC include casting technology, solidification technology and the physical metallurgy of light alloys. From their Web site, June 2002: "The activities of the Centre are aimed at furthering casting technology for aluminium and magnesium alloys and in particular for applications in the automobile industry." |
