The Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Sustainable Tourism (Sustainable Tourism CRC) was established in July 1997. The CRC's areas of research expertise include tourism planning and environmental management, tourism information technology, tourism policy and products and business systems. On 1 July 2003 the CRC became known as the Sustainable Tourism CRC and received a 7 year grant.
