Victoria's Open Range Zoo was established in Werribee by the Zoological Board of Victoria in 1975. It was first opened to the public in 1983. The Zoo is situated on 200 hectares and features grassland animals from Africa and Australia in open exhibits. The zoo is now reffered to as Werribee Open Range Zoo.
