The Monash Medical Centre was founded in 1987, resulting from the amalgamation of the Queen Victoria Medical Centre, Prince Henry's Hospital and the Moorabbin Hospital. The Centre is located at two campuses, the Clayton Campus in Clayton and the Moorabbin Campus in East Bentleigh.

From their Web site, January 2003: "The Medical Centre cares for people of all ages and most illnesses - whether its a child with leukaemia, a middle aged man with heart disease or a pregnant woman with an at risk pregnancy."
