The Desert Knowledge Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) was created in 2003 with a seven year CRC grant to "to make significant progress towards a vibrant desert knowledge economy in inland Australia." The CRC aims to improve the livelihoods of all Australians living in remote desert areas, increase the viability of these desert communities and improve regional desert economies.
