A focus for research is to improve the use of advanced computer and experimental diagnostic techniques in the solution of problems in applied physics and engineering. Engineering simulation such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used to achieve an intimate level of understanding of the physical phenomena being investigated.

Computational Fluid Dynamics and Simulation of fluid structure interaction and Heat transfer are the primary research areas that drive the need for such developments.
