The Brain Research Institute's mission is to understand the function of the human brain in health and disease through research of the highest scientific and ethical standards. Ownership of Australia's only 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine is a mainstay of the Institute's research capability, opening up new and challenging areas of neuroscientific and biotechnical research.
The exciting potential of this technology platform will be increasingly realised as new research programs and collaborations develop. There is an important advantage in this high technology area of research being embedded in a clinical setting which facilitates stimulating and productive collaboration with radiologists, neurologists, neuropsychologists and neurosurgeons. Our ability to foster cross-specialty research interests is a special quality of the Institute.
