As part of the Centre for Mathematical Modelling, Swinburne Sports Statistics provides expertise in the collection, analysis and provision of quality statistical information on sport. Through research via mathematical modelling, we add value by interpretation and analysis thereby creating more meaningful statistics. Using computer and statistical modelling we make the statistics work: providing outcomes such as computer predictions of match results, odds generation for sports gambling, objective player and team ratings, measurement of home advantages, performance prediction, game simulations and tactical evaluation. We provide the media and public with an objective analysis of sporting issues with a sound statistical basis.
