RMIT University aims to undertake outcome-related research and development in its areas of demonstrated research excellence, and to support innovation to underpin future economic and social development in the communities in which it operates.
Its approach to this strategy is to build depth and breadth of disciplinary competence in a number of targeted areas. It also seeks
- to promote a strong practical research culture using project teams
- to connect disciplinary strengths, and research activity linked to teaching and learning for staff and students
- to focus on applied research to contribute to national and international innovation; to align research activities
- to address issues identified by industry, community partners and other client groups
- to provide and to support the commercialisation of potential innovations.
As well as the projects listed below, current areas of research in the Faculty of Business include projects on private sector involvement in national park management; impact study on the Grampians National Park and a visitor monitoring program in the Echuca district.
