Description

Catalogues, lists and indexes giving details of many of ESH's geological photographs, including H/P, 35mm and 1/4 plate negatives, as well as lantern slides. Also includes many negatives in a variety of formats, organized by subject or format, such as: England 1929-1931; Deformed Graptolites, Panoramas; Morphotectonics; Relief model of Australia; Thin bedding and lamination; Structural geology and physiography; 2.25" square negatives; H/P negatives, Folding, bedding and cleavage; 1/4 plate glass negatives.

19-1 H/P negative catalogue and index

List of H/P negatives numbered from 1 to 2071, giving locations and descriptions of original photographs taken by ESH (see 18/1-18/29 for prints, 19/22 for negatives). Mainly Victorian subjects, under the major headings: South Central Victoria; Eastern Highlands; Coastline; Western Highlands; Western District; Mallee and Wimmera; Northern District plains; Otway Ranges; Gippsland - plains and highlands; Physiography of Victoria - Negs. of Plates. Other headings include: South Australia; Western Australia, Aug-Sept 1947; New Zealand; Flinders Ranges, South Australia, 1948; New South Wales; Tasmania; Northern Territory. Also included in back of book is an index to the list, organized according to the above headings and sub-divided into specific localities.

19-2 35mm negatives index

Exercise book containing list of 35mm negatives numbered from 1 to 345, giving detailed descriptions and references (see 19/10 for negatives). Most are copies of illustrations from books and articles. Subheadings include: Devonian fish; North coast (NSW), ANZAAS 1962; Deserts etc. Includes section listing negatives used to prepare lantern slides for a talk on the 'Future of Arid Lands' given to the Royal Society in 1958. Also includes separate listing of negatives prepared for ESH by the Audio-Visual Aids Department of Melbourne University, giving their job number, description and source (see 19/19-19/20 for negatives). Includes sub-sections on 'Revision of Elements of Structural Geology' and 'Slides - Murray Waters Symposium - 1971 Canberra'.
