Born: 5 March 1938  England.  Died: 30 August 1997.

Knox was Professor of Botany at the University of Melbourne 1974 - 1997 and Co-director of the Plant Cell Biology Research Centre 1982 - 1987. His research was centred on the reproductive systems of flowering plants.
