The George Sweet Memorial Fellowship in Economic Geology is awarded the candidate judged to have shown the highest ability and desire to pursue research in a branch of Geology preferably calculated to develop primary or secondary industries based on the use of the non-metalliferous deposits of Australia. Preference is given to graduates in Science/Agricultural Science and Engineering who are graduates of the University of Melbourne. The Georgina Sweet Fellowship is awarded by a Committee comprising the Vice Chancellor the Dean of the Faculty of Science, and the Professors of Geology, Agriculture and Chemistry for research in Geology.
Value: Determined annually
Tenure: 1 year (with possibility of 1 year extension)
