Born: 1 November 1875 England. Died: 20 January 1953.

Skeats was Professor of Geology and Mineralogy, University of Melbourne 1905 - 1941, and Emeritus Professor. Skeats published widely in the field but with emphasis on petrology and stratigraphy.
