Hopper, Victor David (1913 - )

Hopper was a Professor of Physics at the RAAF Academy, University of Melbourne 1961-1978, Dean of Science 1964 - 1967, Visiting Professor 1979 - 1981, and an Honorary Professor thereafter. He had earlier taught physics at the University of Melbourne 1940 - 1961.


Career Highlights

Born 12 May 1913. OBE 1980. Educated University of Melbourne (BSc 1937, MSc 1938, DSc 1949). Lecturer in physics, University of Western Australia 1939, lecturer in physics, University of Melbourne 1940-47, senior lecturer 1947-57, reader 1957-61, professor of physics, RAAF Academy, Point Cook 1961-78, dean of university students, 1961-80. Syme Prize 1943.
