Aeronautical engineer

Sophie Maj has worked in the Metallurgy Department at the University of Melbourne since 1961, rising from senior demonstrator through principal demonstrator to lecturer.

Career Highlights

Educated in aeronautical engineering in Warsaw, graduating in 1957. Came to Australia in 1958. Olympic Tyres 1958-61, senior demonstrator, Metallurgy Department, University of Melbourne 1961-72, principal demonstrator 1972-84, lecturer 1984-.
