3. Some Highlights Of Australian Minerals Technology

To illustrate the accumulation of knowledge and experience in the field of minerals in the 200 years since European settlement some of the outstanding features of a selection of operations may be catalogued under major mineral groupings. The treatment will be by way of examples with emphasis on individuality and innovation rather than by any inclusive scheme. In particular coal and petroleum will be omitted since they are covered in Chapter 11 -Energy -of this volume.
